What @Subdivisions said. I use Mr. Malty but always pitch about 50% more. My understanding is
that it is not common for homebrewers to over pitch. Following this I have good fermentations
    and no issue...

  • Posted in thread: No sparge mashing overnight on 08-20-2015 at 12:46 PM
I occasionally do a full volume mash, no sparge brew day. I brew 5-6 gallon batches, and for a
normal gravity beer (1.050ish) I drop from 75% eff. to 70% eff. I just compensate with a little
    bit more ...

l like this idea. Do you have a way to hide the hinges, or build them into the build so that
they don't look like an afterthought? And what would you put on the top? I can see it getting
    heavy dependi...

I tried to make a pineapple wheat bear once. I used the frozen pineapple pieces from Trader
Joes - 3 bags for a 5 gallon batch. Waited for primary ferm to be done, then racked onto the
    pineapple. When...

Vienna SMaSH with Tettnanger hops. Pseudo-octobertfest. Also did it as a no sparge brew.

committed to a single beer for a whole month, especially if it's been brewed by a novice brewer

Sure. Opening it won't take either the yeast or sugar out of the bottle. But I would mark it so
that it would be the first one I tried after more time has gone by.How much time from when you
    bottled i...

  • Posted in thread: Do I need to attach my collar to the keezer? on 08-14-2015 at 02:00 PM
I didn't attach mine except I did add a second set of hinges so I can open just the lid or open
the lid/collar. What I did have to do, though, was add a layer of neoprene gasket between the
    freezer an...

  • Posted in thread: Fridge of Freezer for Keezer on 08-12-2015 at 03:43 PM
If it were me, I would go with a fridge. Preferably one with no freezer, or a freezer on the
bottom. Fridge because no need for extra temp controls.
