    ABOUT ME

  • I'm a Canadian, born in Windsor across the river from Detroit. Grew up with the auto industry such a large part of my life that is was almost a forgone conclusion that I'd be a part of it. Graduated from Engineering with a focus in automotive in 2003 and Ive been working in the industry since. The best part is it has let me travel, spending time in Austria, germany, Finland, England and living in Southern California and now in Germany.rnrnNew Update - Back in Canada (Yay!) germany was fun but it's nice to be home. ;)

  • Graduated from Engineering at university of Windsor almost 10 years ago. Like any engineer I always thought about brewing my own beer but never really took the thought seriously. When I was diagnosed with dermatitis herpetiformis in 2009 I switched to cider instead of beer. This was easy in Windsor and then in California when my wife and I lived there from the beginning of 2010 to the end of 2011. When we moved here to Germany in January, it was hard to find any good cider. The local apple wine is good but very thin and not very complex. The couple of ciders that I have found are expensive and not entirely worth it. Beer Up from Austria is a great gluten free beer but at 2 a bottle plus shipping, it just doesn't make sense and Lammsbrau Gluten Frei has started me itching like crazy. So I figure its time to challenge the definition of "malt" in the Reinheitsgebot and see what I can make for myself.
