I got into Homebrewing from my buddies in Austin Texas, Brian and Randy, both German! AHS was right down the road from my house, so that was very convenient. Now I passed it along ot friends here in AZ. A good fun thing to do on weekends up here in this small town. I have probably done about 30 batches since moving to AZ two years ago. Only had one go bad on me..... so far.
I mostly brew extracts with steeping grains, LME and DME, I like dry yeast but have used plenty of liquid, Primary in plastic buckets, secondary in carboys, bottle in 12 and litre sized bottles. Use a partial boil in a stainless 32 qt pot with a propoane stand alone cooker.
Use the leftover yeast cake sometimes for bread and pizza dough. Good combo when brewing beer! My pizza rocks! - Not sure right now.
