Honey ferments fully so you won't taste it, but will make a drier beer. If you want honey taste
add honey malt. It is pretty sweet, so I use sparingly. Also you may want to replace some of
    that crysta...

I know this thread is old, but did any one get sulfur aromas when using Campden?

Hahah its like drinking a protein shake, perfect for a post workout drink.I have heard dark
beer is good for sore muscles... Not sure what category that would fall into. It has to do with
    the mineral ...

I believe 1 lb of carapils is too much. I typically see 1/4 to 1/2 lb in a brew.Agree, it will
be hard to make it crisp with a pound. Your fg will be higher the more you add.

  • Posted in thread: Dumped batches. on 05-14-2013 at 03:11 PM
I have dumped more batches than I can recall. Double digit number of batches, certainly, and
even more bottles beyond that. Most of it has been "drinkable", but there's no good reason in
    this beautifu...

  • Posted in thread: First stout I made came out to foamy, any idea why? on 05-13-2013 at 07:05 PM
How long has it been in bottles? It really needs 3 wks to carb properly. It can be foamy if
    it's not carbed yet.

I would shoot for something around 5% and would prob do a 5 gal batch. Pitch plenty of yeast,
ferment at 68 and use Whirfloc.
