Out of curiosity, what temp was your mash at? I had the same problem recently and I was
somewhere between 165 and 167. I should have tried harder to bring it down (trying for 160).I

I do this without a problem. Run off five gallons into your kettle and the remainder into a 3
gallon cooler. Boil off a gallon and a half and top it up with the wort you have in the cooler.

I'm using a 3/8" connected with FIP to attach the braid; the FIP has a 1/4" opening which may
be leading to the slow lauter speed. I don't believe it would cause THIS slow of a lautering
