  • i started brewing about 10 years ago. i made a lot of sub-par beer due to sloppy technique at first, then brewed inconsistently for a few years. I have, in the last few years refined my techniques and equipment and am finally making some really nice, clean beer. I have a kegging set up and a lagering chamber which have both helped tremendously. I read constantly about brewing and am striving to perfect my technique.
  • i have "finished" the monolith brewing machine. it is not quite what i expected, but i am still tweaking it. basically, it is a 2 tier setup using a propane boiler and a ranco temp controlled heating element to heat the HLT. the mash tun and HLT are both 40 qt stainless tanks contained in a stainless rectangle box. there is a built in pump and sparge arm as well as spigots and sight guages. this is a converted 80 qt coffee urn off an aircraft carrier. it is the only thing of its kind in existance.

first take a specific gravity reading. if you are at your target pre boil s.g., then proceed
and throw out excess wort.if the s.g. is too low, then boil down as much as you can and add the

google Chicha de Jora. made from germinating maize to convert the starch to fermentable sugar
then making wort and fermenting. could you germinate the corn water? ithink you are on to
    something here.
