So I thought I would just post that I got mine in 5 days. I bought it on August 25th and got it
on August 30th. I got mine from Amazon from Brainytrade, and I'm pretty sure that if I had
    bought it on ...

So I started reading this forum a few days ago and decided to purchase one of the STC-1000's
via Ebay. I have gotten about halfway through all of the posts, so please don't berate me if
    this has alrea...

So here's an honest question, why didn't you have the cords coming out of the bottom of the box
as opposed to the back? That way you would be able to attach it to the wall or the side of your

Looks awesome, I just bought one of the STC-1000's off of ebay last night. I'm awaiting for
it's speedy arrival. I think I may steal your idea with external cords as opposed to mounting a
    receptacle.

  • Posted in thread: Scored a Freezer for Fermentation on 08-13-2012 at 02:54 AM
So I've been scouring craigslist for a chest freezer to use for fermentation and I finally
scored one the other day for $50. Now the only question I have is not about what to buy, but
    about the contro...

  • Posted in thread: Cream Ale Ideas? on 08-11-2012 at 01:28 PM
So I just did my first cream ale, third brew ever, and it's currently bottle conditioning. I
added nothing to it, but that's because I wanted to get a base for what it was going to taste
    like. I'm goi...

I put quick disconnects on mine, wrapped the threads in teflon tape and tightened em' down. Now
I don't have to worry about the hoses being burned or melted until after I turn off the burner.

So I used the IC today to chill my wort, it definitely worked, brought the temperature down to
about 80 F in about 35 minutes. This is a huge improvement on my other method of just letting
    the wort co...
