- I started brewing about 15 years ago, first using the prepackaged kits and my small pot on the stove. Now I do all grain brewing using a 10 gallon Rubbermaid cooler as my mash tun. I built my own grain mill in the machine shop. I've been kegging for the past 10 years. It's just sooooo much easier than bottling. I've also been doing yeast ranching for the past 10 years.

It's not cidery at all. The cooked sugar syrup is mostly invert sugar (glucose and fructose)
after the cooking rather than sucrose. Too much sucrose will give you cidery product. The oak

You might also consider this since you don't really need a gallon. It says it's food grade
