I brew a modified version of this recipe. I submitted it to a local home-brew fest and received
a 37 and 38. Thanks to Edwort for laying the foundation for this very tasty and hoppy Pale Ale.

I make my pale ale with 4 additions of cascade and then dry hop with simcoe. For me this
combination works. It's not overly complex but hey.. it's a pale ale, nice and smooth.

Since the mash is already at the proper temperature from the first runnings, I never saw the
need to use hotter water than my chosen mash temperature for the sparge. I also do not use a
mash out step....
