  • Beer drinking bike rider.Been brewing off and on since '92.

  • Typical story. A friend got a kit for christmas. That summer we brewed it up and have been hooked since then. From a stovetop setup to a two tier keggle system. Picked up a conical fermenter. Really want to learn more about yeast cultivation and propogation.

    I use the top QD's also. I like them fine. Need to be cleaned well to keep them from sticking
    when they dry after brewing. 1/2'' only from what I've found. But works fine with a hose clamp
    on silicone...

    Hot water and Oxiclean. Soak overnight. Inspect. Brush if necessary. Rinse well. If that
    doesn't work. Don't waste your time on that bottle.

    On the lid. As you said it does not need to be leakproof. This would be a good place for a
    weldless connection. I wouldn't spend the money on the tri clamp sytem though they do look

    Great set up. Love the pictures of the barrel with the blow off tube in action. I think all
