I wasn't on planning on carbing the cider but, you're right Wade, not worth the risk. I wonder
if there is less chance of broken glass injuring someone if they use something like this (

Hi group,I thought I would try using wine instead of beer bottles for my cider this year. I
picked up a good number of bottles from a local restaurant but about two-dozen or so are twist
off type bott...Posted in thread: Backsweetening with Pressed Apple Cider (Juice) on 07-24-2009 at 12:38 PM
The main body is 100% pressed. I tasted it before moving to secondary and it seemed to not have
much "apple flavor". I have two batches, so I'll probably backsweeten one and carb the second.Posted in thread: Backsweetening with Pressed Apple Cider (Juice) on 07-23-2009 at 01:16 PM

I had a similar experience. Initial SG was 1.065. About a month in SG was at 1.034. It took
another month to drop to 1.005 at which point I racked to secondary. I was a little worried of
off tastes bu...Posted in thread: Backsweetening cider with frozen sweet cider on 01-04-2009 at 05:12 AM
I'm going to go for still. Would 1 gallon added to 6 gallons be enough to impart apple flavor?

I could.
