I started a second batch of cider on top of the yeast cake from the first. The first turned out
well, this one I don't know yet. . . I started the second batch on the 5th of February. It took
    off like...

Well, I took the middle name of my 2yo daughter, Wilde, and the first name of my 6 week old
daughter, Juniper, and came up with Wilde Juniper Brewing. Here's the first label for a hard
    cider, nice and...

Well, I didn't necessarily do anything special to scale it down. I just sort of threw it
together. I have a 3 gallon carboy, too, and I just filled it almost to the top. I read on here
    there wouldn't ...

I got my growler filled with abyss at the pub here in Bend on Monday the 14th, the first Aybss

    caused ar...

  • Posted in thread: Name dropper/fast ferment on 01-15-2008 at 09:41 PM
So I am going to be a name dropper here for a second. I have been working for a few months with
a brewer at Deschutes Brewery, on a non-cider project, and I am headed down there today to work
    on that ...

Well, I definitley think I'll pull it off and clean it. Seems as though I have enough positive
pressure to not worry too muhc about outside air getting in there while I sanitze the airlock.

  • Posted in thread: So I have this Digital Hydrometer on 01-05-2008 at 04:51 PM
Well, it turns out I've been mis-informed all along. What I have is not called a hydrometer, it
is a Total Dissolved Solids meter. Great for measuring brew strength in coffee, I would guess
    fairly use...

  • Posted in thread: Airlock cloudy and cider-y. on 01-05-2008 at 04:48 PM
Well, I woke up this morning and found that my airlock on the big carboy is all cloudy and
yellowy with cider and some residue. My question is, should I clean it out today and refill it
    with clean vod...
