  • Got into it about a year ago after trying an undergrad professor's Homebrew. First few batches were kits from Listermann's. Have been developing my own recipes (Steep + extract / Mini Mash) and brewing some recipes from the forums here. Very happy with the results so far!

Hi Tvalone-Answers belowI would consider this book intermediate to advanced level brewing.

No facts in this post, just opinions...There is usually a little head space in my kegs when
they are filled, but I don't think it matters as long as the head space is Co2, not O2.Once
    beer is in the k...

I think this looks fairly good. I prefer Pils malt instead of regular 2 row for Saisons. I
think it gives a more interesting malt flavor in the beer.11.5% seems like a lot of munich to

Since my pitching temp tends to be in the mid 70's, wouldn't adjusting for temp make my OG
higher instead if lower? Temp for the Dunkelweisen (two hours old) was 68. And my volume for
    all three batche...

What is your post-boil volume? The kits are probably calibrated for 1.062 gravity at 5 Gallons.
If you boil it down so there is only 4.5 gallons, the sugars would be more concentrated and
    would bump up...
