  • When I was in grade 8, I stumbled upon a sort of Anarchist website that taught how to make everything from Beer, to Explosive devices, to Rocket Fuel, to how to tap someone's phone line. I never did any of it, but I was fascinated by the how-to's on brewing and distilling. I didn't even drink beer until I could do so legally, but the idea of making it stuck with me.

When I did finally start drinking beer, the first bar I ever went to was a local brew pub. I was a regular there for years and worked there for a little while. I learned a little bit about brewing, there. Not enough to do it, but enough to know that I could do it.
