I was visiting NYC yesterday and I tried a Fire Island Sea Salt Ale. I really enjoyed it. It's
a nice refreshing, hoppy blonde ale with a slightly salty finish. It's not in your face, but
    it's definit...

I've never capped a half-bottle. Anything less than a bottle becomes a 'sample' and is consumed
immediately. :DMy advice is to wait at least 3 weeks before you start messing with the beer.
    Give it tim...

I finally found a 12-pack of Celebration. I think it tastes about the same. Mine's pretty good.
Maybe a touch less malty than I remember, but not that much different.

I left work yesterday from Getzville, NY at 6PM and drove south. The wall of snow was visible
in the distance. It was about 3-5 miles away. It is literally a mass of clouds that stretch
    across the sky...

I think being able to control your mash ratios gives you just a little bit more control over
your process. It's another variable you can play with to fine tune your beer.I batch sparge. I

Don't forget the classic Ice Storm of '98. 11 days without power. I strapped on my hockey
skates to go to the neighbours house. No joke.CADjockey has it right. As crappy as winter fury

Don't forget Jan, 1985. I was stuck in my apartment for almost a week. Then there was the 2000
Thanksgiving storm where some people were stuck on the Thruway for a few days. do I live here?

  • Posted in thread: Drip tray attached to front of keezer? on 11-18-2014 at 08:01 PM
You mean the brackets can be removed, even epoxied?:(Yep - I pulled them off when I had to move
the unit into my basement. They came right off with some pressure. Didn't leave a mark on the
    keezer. I ...

  • Posted in thread: "Gamma Seal" lids on 11-18-2014 at 04:24 AM
I use them for grain storage as well. I think people avoid using them for fermenters because of
the difficulty in cleaning them. The lids snap on and it's easy to get gunk up under the lip of
    the lid....

Never underestimate the potential of someone who refuses to act their age.
