Second vote for cut the hose. You have a lot more room to work then and you can probably get
the shanks out and get that clamp off a lot easier. You're throwing the hose out anyway.

If you don't have a check valve between the regulator and the corny, you need to bleed off the
pressure before turning you regulator down or you will have a mess on your hands.
