  • Started out making wine from grapes that grew in an overgrown field in my parents backyard. On year, Dad had accidentally started brush fire and scorched the entire field. The next year the vines that had survived the inferno produced massive amounts of grapes. I made a half gallon of wine from the grapes and spent the next few years making wine from all sorts of a variety of things, including prune juice and marigolds. Prune juice actually makes a fantastic wine! Marigolds? Almost drowned in the shower after night of drinking marigold wine. That's another story... sorry mom... but thanks for finding me before it was too late. So obviously after a few years of making one fermented drink, it was time to make others. So, I tried making beer... still trying.
  • I'm on a Belgian kick right now. I want to start making some smooth IPAs, not the unbalanced ones in which I seem have the unfortunate knack of being able to brew consistently.

that are all too common. You know the ones where some brewers will often extol the virtues of

Gross! I never TINKLE in my water. Bad brewing process, if you ask me. Undoubtedly, will cause
