    ABOUT ME

  • Andy Herrick
  • I am a fairly new all grain brewer, and enjoy the hobby of homebrewing tremendously. I started out with a kit smaller than a Mr. Beer from Bed Bath and Beyond. It turned out like crap. My wife bought me a basic kit, and I did two extract recipes, moved on to two partial mash recipes, and finally after a lot of you tube I have completed four all grains. I am not against doing partial mash recipes either. I try to make decent brews while maintaining a budget. Most of my all grain equipment is DIY. Favoite styles are anything "hoppy" or beer with a lot of character (dark, or unique flavors).

I figured i get the same amount of sleep either way. I used to be a night owl but have grown to
go to bed early and get up earlier. Hope everyone enjoys their beer early or late night brewed.
    Thanks

Last night on my commute home I was doing some serious thinking. Stay up late to brew or get up
early without much sleep to brew. I am a father of three young children and like to be
    involved. My brew...

Thanks. I put the magnet along the whole back. My magnets not strong enough but would be cool
    to have it attract.

I couple years ago I received a capcatcher as a gift that magnetizes to my fridge. I Love it so
much I wanted my brothers and brother-in-laws to all have one. I didn't want to buy one,
    because it says...

Nothing fancy but the usual computer fan and magnets along with parts from radio shack. My jug
has to be off center to get a full vortex. Could be my 9 V power supply. Not enough juice. Nice

My first yeast starter on the stirp plate is going great. I love it. I will let it go all day
and then put in the fridge to crash. I am brewing a homegrown/ wild hop IPA with my brother in

Thanks for the reply. I will probably do the same. My diy electrical has me a little worried to
leave run when no one is home. Happy brewing

Not the best picture. I have a toggle switch and rheostat. I used youtube video by Yourbassman
to assist in the wiring. I was using an old style soldering iron. I then wrapped electrical
