- I'm a father of two great sons and have a beautiful wife. It's hectic all the time with baseball, school and everything else. Finding the time to homebrew may be few and far between, but I'm loving learning about it.

- Have been a craft brew fan ever since I was introduced to the concept in 1995 by a former boss. Many years ago we purchased by Dad a homebrew kit for Christmas. This year, after watching Brew Masters on Discovery, I asked him if he still had the kit. He brought it up for Christmas and I used some Christmas money to replace a few pieces and buy some ingredients. It's all very basic right now, just a small brew pot, carboy and bottling bucket. I want to purchase a larger pot to do full 5-gallon boils and a second carboy (or Better Bottle) so I can do multiple batches. Most of all, I want to learn more about brewing by doing it.
- Next two brews - IPA and a Hefeweize

At my computer now - this is the fridge won't hold anything by itself (except bottled beer).
You'd have to take the door off and extend it. It's on the small side, but for $45 if you're
looking to do...Posted in thread: Compact Fridge on Clearance on 09-18-2011 at 03:05 PM
At Target in Atlanta and they have a ton Emersom 2.8 CF refrigerators on clearance for $45.Just
thought I'd share. Great for building a fermentation chamber. You can probably find these at
many stores...Posted in thread: Worst Commercial Beer You've Ever Had? on 06-22-2011 at 08:18 PM
Vital Spark Ale while in Scotland last year. Absolutely the most bitter beer I've ever tasted
with nothing to complement or finish it. I love a bitter IPA, but this was like eating whole
hops.Posted in thread: Watermelon Ale on 06-13-2011 at 12:08 PM
It should all ferment out, but sugar can sometimes add a "hot" taste. So try to ferment low and
give it an extra week in the carboy/bucket.Posted in thread: Watermelon Ale on 06-08-2011 at 02:45 PM
I just ordered an American Wheat Extract kit from morebeer.com, and one dram of watermelon
flavor from LorAnn Oils. I plan on adding the watermelon when I rack to secondary. Any issues
with doing this...Posted in thread: Watermelon flavoring on 05-27-2011 at 01:51 PM
I made nutty-gnome's recipe and posted my comments today in the other thread -Posted in thread: Watermelon Ale on 05-27-2011 at 01:50 PM
nutty_gnome - I did an extract version of your Watermelon recipe about 6 weeks back and tasted
it this past weekend. Wow!My wife wanted me to make this and I was hesitant, but I'm so glad I
did. I use...Posted in thread: Carboy/ Keg Cleaner Giveaway on 05-27-2011 at 01:24 PM

I'll add my thumbs-up to the Vinator recommendation. One of the best and cheapest purchases you
can make. I can place it on top of my bottle tree and sanitize a case of bottles in a few
minutes.Posted in thread: Ringwood Starter Questions on 04-19-2011 at 04:00 PM
I've used Ringwood once and it was a slow starter (maybe 48 hr).
Fermenting: EdWort's Apfelwein, Mac Jack African Amber clone
Bottled: A-Z Brown Ale, MidTN Double IPA, Carter's Creek Falconer Pale Ale, Indian Brown Ale
