  • Got started in 2012 with a Groupon for a starter kit from Midwest. Realized I was actually not too bad at making beer. Now I'm starting 2015 with 3 kegs and and planning a keezer build. Sticking with extract kits for now but always willing to tinker with a recipe.

    Inexpensive refractometer. $18 or so as an Amazon lightning deal. Easier to read than I thought

    Pulled a sample on Tuesday and hit my FG right on the nose 1.021. Body and mouthfeel seem much

    I guess it depends on what you want. Brewer's Gold at 30min would give you a bit more
    bitterness. A late Cascade addition would be pretty tasty, IMHO.Here's an older thread about
