    ABOUT ME

  • I had been wanting to try home brewing for years and finally broke down and got my first kit in 2011. I started doing all grain batches in 2012 but took most of 2013 off. I got the itch again this year

Kegged the other day, couldn't resist a sample. Cold and flat, still tastes awesome. Can't wait
for it to carb up and age a few more weeks. Nice amount of roasty flavor and silky smooth.

    I brewed this last weekend...1.058 OG but only down to 1.020. I used 1098 because I couldn't
get any 1335. I fermented around 67 degrees. I've raised it up a degree or two and tried to
    rouse the yeast...

I brewed this recipe up yesterday and I'm super excited about it. I couldn't get ahold of any
1335 and I missed the posts about using Denny's so I used 1098. OG was 1.058 because I added an
    extra poun...

I brewed this up several weeks ago. I modified the recipe somewhat this time around. This was
the third or fourth time I've brewed it. I added some additional golden promise and I used
    another can of ...

How much pumpkin would you recommend? I don't have fresh pumpkin but I have two cans of Libby's
    (not the pie mix stuff).

I'm going to be brewing this up in a couple of weeks. Has anyone ever tried adding lactose to
this recipe? I was thinking about adding 8oz towards the end of the boil.

I brewed this up again today. I used 6lbs of 2 row, 2lbs flaked maize, and 1lb of minute rice.
Not sure I let my cooler tun warmup enough and I lost a few degrees during the mash. OG was
    1.048. Little...

294831Love this beer. Even though I mashed a little low and it's stronger than anticipated it
cleared up well and tastes great!

I brewed this Last Friday. Hit 80% mash efficiency for the first time and I was pumped. Mashed
a little lower than I wanted. I ended up with 5 gallons in the fermenter at 1.052. I used 1056
    and it is ...
