  • I read a lot of things so I can't really answer this one.
  • Well, I sat on the idea for a while and since I have ADD something fierce interests come and go. I figured since a year or two had gone by and I was still interested in giving homebrewing a shot it was probably time for me to get started. Went to Brewmaster's Warehouse and bought the stuff and before I knew it I had my first batch in primary. Currently looking to brew my second as soon as the first is ready.
  • Currently brewing a Hefe, I like Belgians quite a bit so I thought I would try one of the Chimay Blue clone recipes I have found on here.

So, just an update on my tweaked batch of this. Carb isn't quite there yet but I have had a
couple of bottles so far, and I can honestly say that it is great! I used dark brown sugar
    instead of light,...

So, instead of cinnamon extract or powder I am simmering a cinnamon stick with my caramel
sauce. Hopefully that will be a nice compromise. I am also adding a tsp of vanilla extract,
just to add a bit ...

I do this with ground spices. You still have oil if you add the oil to the alcohol but you can
strain off the ground spices after extraction with the alcohol. Sent from my iPhone using Home

Knowing how water reacts with oil I am not sure this would be great. Though as a solvent
alcohol might help with that. I would advise no make the extract man! but I have zero
    experience so you should ...

So I tried this cider last year and it was a HUGE hit with the family on Christmas Eve! The
only part that I was unsatisfied with was the snotty looking cinnamon at the bottom of the
    bottles. I am mak...

I agree, I just had the last bottle that I have of this and it was about a year old. Flavoe
mellows in a very good way, not as sweet, closer to the original in my opinion. Really wish I
    had bottled a ...

I just cracked one of these open that I made probably around 2 years ago. This bad boy ages
spectacularly. I'm sipping on it at room temp right now and enjoying the amazing depth of
    flavor that this b...

Anyone know how long SP can sit in the fermenter and still be good? Long story short is I make
it up for my wife and her friends. I made a batch back in December but unfortunately my wife

yesThanks Poptarts. That was very brief, but helpful.

So, a quick question. If I plan to bottle carb and stovetop pasteurize the batch, do I omit
both the Kmeta and Sorbate? I am pretty sure those two chemicals mixed together are what kill
    the remaining ...
