Also look at your thermometer accuracy. You may be mashing too high or low. Happened to me and
I could taste the grain too (I was mashing too low).

Closest I've come is smoked onions for consumption. I core them and pack the inside with
butter, garlic powder, and a splash of beer. Really tasty buggers! them on the coals seems
like a waste of goo...

Consider using nibs instead of cocoa powder. In at flame out and leave in through fermentation.
