I don't know the brew store has them in 1 lb bags labeled "Smoked Malt". I don't mill my own
grain so I don't have the bag to see exactly what it was. But it didn't smell like smoke when
    we milled it....

I know this is like 3 years old...in case someone is searching about this malt and finds
    this...like I did...1 lb in a mini mash 5gal batch...is WAYYYY too smokey.

OK...I think the 1 Hab and 1lb of Mango makes more sense. Check.I will be using 1gal glass
jugs....for secondary.I believe fermenting the mead en masse is the better plan. That way I can
    do some SLIGH...

Going to brew these Friday evening. All will be 1 gal batches. Following the JAOM basics of
1gal batch + handful of raisins. 3 lbs honey with no secondary and using bread yeast to keep it
    sweet...Blac...

Go get a paintball CO2 tank from Walmart. I keep one (along with an adapter to connect it to my
regulator) in case of times like this.Even without the adapter you could just blanket the beer
    with CO2 ...

  • Posted in thread: Why do big breweries mainly create lagers? on 12-06-2012 at 12:52 AM
It can't be for the flavor. ;)Seems that lagers take longer and require more resources to
produce than ales.So why are all the main breweries concentrating on these?

have NO space for my current hobbies let alone my family. :DI don't even have space for a
    kegerator let alon...
