Is there a good substitute for a lager yeast. Looking to sub out White Labs American Pilsner
Lager (WLP840) yeast. Just not sure if I can get temps for fermentation down enough to use
lager yeast. Tha...Posted in thread: Cider Yeast for an ale? on 03-12-2013 at 03:05 PM
Hi guys, I am looking to brew this soon and was wondering what the cider yeast will bring to
the table? Also, is there another style of yeast I could use. It's a Yuengling Lager clone that
ferments li...Posted in thread: Dry hopping on 12-06-2012 at 05:33 PM
+1I would just soak it in a star-San solution and add the hops if that is the route you are
going. Or you could do what I do (and quite a few others around here) and just toss the hops in
an let them ...Posted in thread: Dry hopping on 12-06-2012 at 10:58 AM
Is there a need to sanitize a hop bag for dry hopping? If so, how do I do it. ThanksPosted in thread: IBU help on 11-18-2012 at 11:14 AM

I enjoy over the top hop punch also. I like to share my home brews with friends. And as
everyone knows, everyone has different tastes.Posted in thread: IBU help on 11-14-2012 at 11:17 PM
It all depends on how you look at it...I only late hop (add hops at 20 minutes or less) and so
my IBUs are pretty closely related to how much aroma and flavor I will get (besides dry hopping
which is ...Posted in thread: IBU help on 11-14-2012 at 10:16 PM
Ya, I think I am getting it mixed up. I'm thinking that the IBU'S are how hoppy the beer is.
So, I think I'll make it to spec and keep the left over hops for another brew.
