  • A friend bought me a Mr. Beer kit 4 years ago, and had success, but was not happy with the flavors of their beers. I started really homebrewing after really delving into more craft beer than just Sam Adams and Sierra Nevada with a couple of buddies that had homebrewed before. We discussed what was involved and I was like, I gotta do this. So, bought the beginner kit for homebrewing from my lhbs and used my buddy's pot and fryer to do the first extract. I am now moving on to all grain and creating my own recipes. First all grain recipe that I created is a Hefeweizen, we'll see how it turns out!

Final Gravity is reading 1.018 and holding. I don't taste "buttered popcorn". But I'm a worry

Thank you everyone! I will continue with my ice bath method, and allow the wind chill to aid in
cooling! Snow is a non factor, as we haven't really had much in central PA this year.
