  • I got into brewing as a dare from my wife about 10 years ago. She saw a Mr. Beer kit and said that I could not do that if I tried. Well the rest is history now. I used Mr. Beer for about 2 years and moved into a 5 gal setup. I now have to brew (boil) outside since, according to my wife, when I do inside, the house smells like puke. To each their own. I am now brewing all BIAB now. No style or ingredient is safe with me.

I'm thinking about a SMaSH IPA. 2-Row and Cascade. Maybe a 60 min addition and then every 15
min after that of about an ounce. Dry hop with 2-3 ounces and then let it ferment out as dry as
    possible us...

I was not going to dry hop. I was just going to whirlpool an ounce of the last three. I was
actually thinking about adding an ounce of Cascade in the keg in a muslin bag but I think it
    will be a waste...

I use a blowoff tube all the time now. I had a cherry explosion all over my dining room wall,
floor, and ceiling (still need to paint). I learned my lesson. What I do is use a 4' length of
    tubing with...

My first IPA was considered "vegital" and I rushed it too much. I was only in primary for about
8 days and then into the bottles it went for 2 weeks. I enjoyed it, and that's all the matters
    here righ...

The only thing that would really concern me from reading your post is the possibility that any
glass got into your beer. Even with a clean break or chip is imagine there is still a chance of
    some fine...

I'm making my 69 minute F-Me IPA this Saturday morning. It's a 69 minute boil with about 8
different types of hops added at almost every 10 minutes. All of these hops are from my private
    garden picked...

I have two or more cases of flip top bottles. I do not use them after I started kegging. I am
looking at getting $20/each case. I can PM pics if interested. I have a case of green and three
    cases of b...
