  • I'm an attorney in the financial services business. Currently still employed. Started home brewing late 2008. Seems like fun so far. I am really surprised how good my first beer was, a nut brown ale.

  • My brother in law was doing a 50 gallon barrel of cider, with wild yeast. I was really taken by the thought of buying, cider, adding sugar, and having hard cider. So I bought some cider, ended up here, and realized you could make beer and wine at home. So, here I go!

    I've noticed that I get a ton of sediment after malolactic fermentation. Even more than first
    racking. And even after the next racking. Is this common?

    I agree with TJ. I have a crusher and press and love the process. However, i also think getting
    a juice bucket is a nice easy way to take the first step and you can expand things from there.
