  • It all started with a Mr. Beer kit. After a year or two of having my first job after college I had some money and realized that I need to start brewing a little better than cheap plastic bottles with twist off tops. I thought I could make a lot better beer and learn a lot more about beer. Then a friend referred me over to this site and I have expanded my beer knowledge tenfold. I think that will be the case for the next few years.

    I'd assume anywhere between 3B-4B. Tough to ever get to the level of the yeast manufacturers at
    4.5B per mL. I usually go off of 3B per mL when I cold crash my yeast for a few days.

    I think you will be fine doing this. I might even wash the yeast, then make a 1.040 starter to
    get the yeast used to an environment that isn't so stressful and then save or pitch into
    another beer.

    RDWHAHB. Once fermentation is done cold crash around 40F for a few days, rack from above the
    sediment, and then bottle/keg. You'll have clear beer in no time, no need for gelatin.
