  • It all started with a Mr. Beer kit. After a year or two of having my first job after college I had some money and realized that I need to start brewing a little better than cheap plastic bottles with twist off tops. I thought I could make a lot better beer and learn a lot more about beer. Then a friend referred me over to this site and I have expanded my beer knowledge tenfold. I think that will be the case for the next few years.

    Switch that Centennial hop addition to somewhere in the last 10 minutes of the boil and I think
    you'll be good. No need in wasting the great flavors of that hop by using it only for its
    bitterness.

    Looks pretty good to me! Never done that much rye personally but I have seen recipes calling

    Rye just adds a little spicyness to the malt flavor, should go fine with any kind of hops. Many
    different Rye IPAs out there, different hop profiles and all.

    I'd probably wait until bottling time and then do some samples with different amounts of
    pomegranate added to see the ratio you like. If kegging you can add directly to the keg until
    you get the taste...

    Or you can lookup reptile heat cable. That's what I have in my ferm chamber to raise the temp.

    Google MrMalty yeast calculator and you can find out the number of cells after adding a few
    numbers.
