    ABOUT ME

  • Quite new to homebrewing but enjoying it very much. I started with two extract batches and quickly sought out a more 'hands on' approach.

I'm currently experimenting with the Brew in a Bag (BIAB) method due to it's simplicity (both in clean up and necessary equipment).

I'm looking to join a homebrew club sometime in 2012 to learn better practices and to seek out others with similar interests.

    Cheers!

I did a Roggenbier this weekend. I used over 50% in ny grain bill. I knew enough to add some
rice hulls, used 8 oz. in fact. Nope...not enough! It stuck almost instantly!:( The rye sunk to
    the bottom ...

Here's another take:Slice the brussels in half and marinate with balsamic vinagrette for about
an hour. Bring the oven to 400 and bake for about 45 minutes. The balsamic will carmelize and
    the brussel...

Your approach seems fine, but it will add a significant amount of time to the brew day. Are you
opposed to beefing up the gravity by adding some DME?

Let it ferment out -23 weeks, then rack it to secondary onto .5 oz of French oak and 1 cup or
two of Pinot Noir. Leave it along for 6-12 months before adding the sour cherries, that will
    give the bugs...

I brewed an English BW last weekend with Maris otter and wyeast 1024. I made 2.5 gallons and
put it in a 5 gallon carboy expecting explosive fermentation. It only developed about 6 inches

About to go another round with this brew. Came out phenomenally the first time and I was lucky
