  • Started recently a few months ago with an extract kit from the LHBS. I have always wanted to homebrew just never had the money or dedication like I do now. Am currently upgrading to do AG which is where I think I should have started in the first place. Next recipe is one I formulated...a IIPA with almost 20 lbs of grains and 6 oz of hops!!

If you are connecting flexible tubing to the top of the bent cane that comes out of the
autosiphon, you'll need to add a hose clamp there. The flow of beer past that junction will
    entrain air and caus...

I would have left him, pitched and used this as an opportunity to name your beer...Dead "fly"
Ale...but seriously, I wouldn't worry about one little insect destroying a whole batch.I'd be
    more worried...

My biggest blowoff was with notty. Had a quart of blowpff material fermenting 5gal in a 7gal

One week is wayyy too early for a beer that big. I'd give it at least a month. Plus, only
multiple gravity readings spaced a few days apart will tell you if you're stalled or not. It
    sounds like activ...

Well if you can stick it in a fridge and cold crash it (works well if you're kegging), that
sediment turns to clay and you can pretty much move the auto siphon all around without fear of
    disturbing th...

Always a good idea to have many extras of things like stoppers and airlocks. Like others have
said you should get another one on there with airlock ASAP. With tinfoil, once fermentation
    subsides, you ...

Having drank this many times now, I just can't see how the IBU's in this beer are any less than
100..It's why I like this brew as much as I do because I'm a hophead...:rockin:

I was going to do just that! I was also going to add a Jamil's Brews section with all of his
brewing classic styles recipes. The problem... time to actually do this. I shall start
    immediately on Jamil...

Has anyone with Beersmith thought about creating an Add-In with all of the CYBI recipes? This
    would be awesome!
