  • I retired early to have as much time as possible with my wife. She died of cancer in April 2011 and I found myself alone with many empty hours. Finding HBT was a God-sent to me. I brewed in the 90s and continued until '02 but had not given home brewing any thought in a long time. When I joined HBT my passion was instantly rekindled and I find myself here constantly. So much has changed since I last brewed and more important...HBT is the gathering place for all the great ideas to be shared. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this.
  • Writing, photography,Photoshop, the arts and the such and of course.....brewing.
  • Retired...somewhat. I work two days a week in the financial business.
  • Ray Brighurst
  • This week..Mumford and Sons, Jackie Evancho, Jerry Douglas, Four Play (always). I like all kinds of music but not all of the music in those 'all kinds'. I love some classical, some jazz, some blues, some classic rock, some country, some bluegrass, some reggae, some rap, some hip hop, some zydeco, some...of everything.
  • I don't watch movies very much but 'Sling blade' would be on a short list.
  • I don't watch a lot of TV but I follow NFL, NASCAR, College basketball and football. Other than sports I watch 'Criminal Minds', 'Law & Order' and that type of thing occasionally.
  • Anything by Charles Dickens, Ernest Hemingway, Flannery O'Connor, Kahlil Gabran, Scott Fitzgerald,
  • None I fear
  • I actually don't remember how I got started. It was before the internet so I assume a magazine or some other printed matter.
  • Everything
  • Something I concocted from the ingredients I had left over with the help of Beer Calculus
  • Cream Ale
  • I presently have six different brews bottled. I call them 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. Oh how I wish I had waited on 1, 2, and 3 and hadn't sucked them down when they were so young.
  • Nothing yet but that is next. Maybe this weekend.

Starting up the boil. Getting a nice hotbreak. I use the stove to bring it up to boil temp
faster. Seems to help yield a better hotbreak as well. This is my first time with the new hop
    filter. Brewing...

Today (yesterday) I redneck engineered a E-mash BIAB system and brewed a hybrid cream ale that
I know is going to be awesome.
