  • My uncle brewed for years, wine and beer. I always enjoy Micro-brews, and I am a busy body with lots of hobbies. Hopefully I am good at this one. My setup is pretty basic, I have a primary and a bottling bucket. I picked up a stock pot at walmart. I have a rack and bottling device. my next purchase will be 12 32oz blue swing top bottles and a couple growlers. My wife bought me a setup from monster brew while I was in Iraq. Eventually I want an outdoor propane cooker because I have an electric stove which is not ideal. Before I get that I plan on getting a wort chiller. I chilled mine in the sink with ice.

    *UPDATE 28NOV08*
bought a wort chiller today! also bought 18 32oz swing-top bottles (blue), beer thief, 5Gal glass carboy (for secondary), and the ingredients for a double chocolate stout that sounds pretty good!
  • I would like to make a Ginseng Mead one day. I dont know why. I would also like to brew a Stout, one like the world has never seen... I was talking to a buddy the other day and we started to talk about yeast culturing. I might look into that one day.
  • All three are empty for now.

...The temp of the wort when I pitched the yeast was around 80F so that would not have killed
it right? I had prepared it with boiled water @ 95F or so so it seems to me the yeast would be
    OK. I hope?...

Sorry about the delay, anyway, that person told me that brewing your own beer was equal to making moonshine. Thus, it was almost impossible. They liked it after I gave them a taste.
