- Just getting into all of this, and have the added challenge of living in an RV fulltime...limited space...less-than-perfect climate control... Looking forward to the challenge. :) I'm a particular fan of meads and ciders, which is pretty much the sum total of what I've brewed thus far.

- Found out awhile back that a cousin and her husband found their way into the brewing world. Kind of sparked in interest. More importantly, though, I discovered mead; and discovered that it's rather hard to come by in local liquor stores. Thus, I decided I needed to make my own...and then found out I've got another friend who makes his own mead as well. So the time is right and I just need to figure out how to make it work in my mobile abode.

Sounds good. On a side note how much honey did you use in Apfelwein-mead (substitute honey)?

They're in a cabinet at ~75ºF right now. Temperature control is a difficult thing here in the

Day 2:Yeast is definitely doing it's job, but it's being calm about it. Went ahead and topped,
then took a sample for hydrometer: - Lemon-ginger: 1.104 sp.gr. (1.100 @ 86ºF) - Lime-ginger:

Made some mead today based on Mr. Nice Guy's recipe ( I did two 1-gallon batches, one using
lemon and one substituting lime for lemon. I did the tea a little differently, essentially

My JAO was exactly according to the recipe and sat for exactly 60 days undisturbed with a temp
of 72-74 degrees. Final gravity was 1.010So it wouldn't surprise me at all for 4 months with
cool temps t...
