- When I was in the seminary some of my brothers decided to start brewing for the community. They made some nice beers, but all I did was fill bottles. A couple years later my father bought me a Mr. Beer for Christmas and I brewed my first batch of blueberry pale honey ale (just okay). I found a guy on Craigslist who was moving and put up his whole homebrew equipment collection for $50. I can't believe I actually thought about it for a while before snatching it up! I still use much of the equipment from that buy. I love to brew amber and pale ales.

Oh, by the way, I'm going by these recipes: been reading around about Fuller's water
additions and it seems they're a bit sneaky in that regard. Rascals don't mention anything in

Do most of you set your thermie a few degrees lower than your intended ferm temp, or stick the

I've used a thermostat controlled freezer to ferment for years, but I always set it at ~62F. I
want to be on the safe side, knowing that the fermentation will increase the temp of the
