  • I was always interested in brewing but never wanted to shell out the money putting together a decent kit just in case I either wasn't good at it or didn't like it. A friend gave me his True Brew kit last month since he went on the wagon and I just brewed my first brown ale (will be bottling it this weekend). I loved brewing it and I can say it's almost addicting, looking forward to doing more. The fact that I can create what I want to drink if I can't get it from a distributor's shelf is great.
  • I'll be with extract kits for a while and plan on doing some stouts and porters. I would like to eventually move up to all-grain brewing and I'm also interested in trying to make my own "gruit ale".

I'm a beginner but would eventually like to make a gruit (un-hopped) historical ale. I have a
recipe but it's for all-grain and was wondering it was possible to make this with DME/LME since
    I don't ha...

I'm just wondering since I saw plastic carboys advertised. I have a bunch of empty water-cooler
jugs in my basement and I was wondering if sanitized... could it be a carboy? Or is there
    something fund...
