  • I watched beerfest and googled homemade beer. It's all a blur from there! I'm an AG brewer. I'm neither a hophead nor a malt crazy... I'm both. If it's a well made brew I'll probably enjoy it. Not a big drinker but love good bier and food. As such I take as much pleasure in a 3.5% bier as I do a 10.5%.rnrnCurrently brewing 1.66 gallon batched due to space restrictions.

Weezy I think I will be doing that, maybe not the first go round unless I split the batch.
Thinking on this it occurs to me that distillation evaporates away the alcohol from the wash
    leaving behind m...

I got a bottle of Lagavulin 16 for Christmas, loving it! I really enjoy scottish ales & wee
heavy brews, do fairly well with them in competitions the few times I've entered them. So I

dkevinb, I'm not sure what your problem with the wheat beer is. I suspect you either fermented

    calcium water wh...

In a homebrew environment for most of us that's pushing it. However considering an OG of
1.045ish is highly likely if you pitch more yeast than usual it's completely possible to
    produce a good brew as...

The roasted malts produced by different malters are often very different even when bearing the
same name. Thus for more chocolate/less roast find a lightly roasted chocolate malt. In small
    quantities ...

Bread Yeast Bitter Don't worry, I'm as surprised as you! Super clear, decent for a 'oh no I'm
    out of yeast' brew day.
