Great news Leather, glad the beer turned out great for you. I am sure Citra adds a nice touch,
I'll have to give it a shot at some point. I always add whirlfloc to the kettle and just go

Very cool. I have 55 gallon barrels that I believe are 23" in diameter. It looks like they
would fit on there by the picture. What do you think? Is there some extra space?Sent from my

I haven't tried making the DFH60 with Palisades but I wouldn't recommend it. The 60 was much
better 3-4 years ago when they were still using Amarillo. Still good now, just seems like a
    "lighter" versi...

I'm looking to do a brown ale and I like the way this recipe looks. I'm trying to scale it down
to a ~3 gal batch. However, I'm finding I'm calculating a different predicted OG than you state

Good ideas. I think I'm going to look into a 100# tank. One of the reasons it took so long was
the boil would stop and start because the tank would freeze up. I think it'll be more
    consistent even if ...

Well the burner worked great. Used it to get mash/sparge temps up to where they needed to be. I
then used it to get about 40 gallons to a rolling boil. It took a little time to get it up to a
    boil but...
