Alright guys. It's about done so I poured a sample glass. It is VERY good, but not quite what I
was lookin for. It has a very piney punch and I was going for more of the west coast citrus
    type. Any su...

using Home BrewAwesome! Thanks!! I've been in ems for a few years, as well as a volunteer

Congrats on the new job. No shame in buying an occasional keg of commercial to keep some extra
thermal mass in there. Purely for thermal mass. And the occasional study break drink. Also, if
    it is empt...

That will definitely help. It will also help your keezer survive longer. Less cycling longer
life. I will admit, my keezer is rather empty too. Just apfelwein and a half keg of stout. My
    ipa just blew...

Or just relocate the tank outside of the Keezer. The place I use just swaps out tanks and uses
aluminum, but I still keep both my tanks outside the Keezer so I have more space inside for
    what's import...

Honestly, I find taping the probe (and insulating with an old koozie or bath towel) makes my
keezer cycle hardly ever. The more thermal mass in the keezer, the less the temperature will
    swing. I also ...

Raising your temp swing will help. You don't need to be right on the dot. Try two, or three if
it doesn't help much.I would tape the probe under some bubble wrap or styrofoam to the side of
    your ferme...

So I have an IPL lagering in the keg in my keezer. My stc-1000 is set to 1*C, 1* dif, 10 min
delay. I have the temp probe in a water bottle on the bottom with a fan to circulate air. Am I
    doin somethi...

Slide a piece of cardboard under it, like a coaster.Thats a great quick fix until I can get it
painted!! I'd like to keep my tank looking nice, so I will def be painting it. It will protect
    it too sin...

  • Posted in thread: fermentation chamber - looking for idea(s) on 06-02-2014 at 01:04 AM
I took a $20 craigslist mini fridge, ripped off all the plastic stuff on the door, and put
together an STC-1000 temp controller. I can ferment, lager, and condition at just about any
    temp I want. All ...
