I racked and bottled at 10 days, and there is still a lot of sediment forming in my bottles. At
2 weeks I would think you're fine. Which yeast did you use?

Noooo! Ok, looks like I should have checked back sooner, as I bottled yesterday! I did a bunch
of other searches, and most recommended bottling this type of beer young. I kept my daily
    hydrometer read...

  • Posted in thread: Second krausen in hefe - bottle? on 04-25-2012 at 10:46 AM
Ok, so I brewed a hefeweizen using extract and specialty grains on April 16. I had an OG of
1.047 and pitched the wyeast 3068 at 71F and kept the fermentation at those temps for a week -
    it was going ...

Any suggestions on whether to bottle while that second Krausen is hanging around?

CrookedTail, so perhaps the amount of yeast in suspension is still typical of this strain.

Ok, so I brewed this beer on April 16, sticking with my original ingredients, but subbing in
the wyeast 3068 instead of the dry I had in the recipe. I had an OG of 1.047 and pitched the
    yeast at 71F a...

Hello everyone. I'm hoping to make a Vienna lager-ish beer, but I'm limited to extract brewing
and don't have a spare fridge/freezer for lagering, so... this is my idea. On the advice of a
    few posters...

Thanks guys, will give it a try - next brew is going to be a hefe, but after that I'd like to
try this Vienna. I'll read the sticky on BIAB and hopefully get myself better informed. I
    absolutely love ...

I may be pursuaded, but since I've only done 3 brews (1 extract, 2 extract + specialty grains)
and have no idea regarding my water chemistry other than it's hard as nails, I've been a little
    scared of...

Hello everyone! So I'm trying to make a vienna style beer similar to Negra Modelo, and since I'm
not set up for all grain, this needs to be an extract/specialty grain beer. I'd like to make a
    substanti...
