I'm not entirely following your plan here, but I can offer one suggestion. Insert the stoppers
from the inside. That way pressure actually seats them more tightly rather than pushing them

Many people are using 1" NPT fittings for their elements. I understand that the elements are
NPS but they will seal. I'm wondering if the id of the camlock is large enough for an ULWD
