    ABOUT ME

  • I've been a homebrewer since 2006 but went to All grain brewing earlier this year. I follow recipies more or less but also love to experiment with smaller batches of beer. rnMy favorite beers to make are IPA's and Porters.

I'm heading to Maui in a couple days and will be staying in Kihei. I already know of Maui
Brewing Company and will certainly be going there, but other than that, where else is a good
    place in Maui to ...

I never actually said "Flanders Red", but "Flanders sour mash". Maybe if I said
"Flanders-style" instead it would be less confusing to you? Anyway I don't expect this to taste
like a Grand Cru but I'm...

Yeah I have other batches on Roselare. The particular beer I talking about on this thread is
sour mash only and using BRY-97 yeast with a bit of pacman for bottle conditioning; no Brett.

I think glass carboys are the better way to go for-less oxygen getting in-a clearer view of
what's going on in the carboy-easier clean-up afterwards ensuring all the brett bugs are gone
    (plastic would...

I tried Summer hops but found them rather bland. I'm not planning on using them again.

Well that put me over the edge. Bought 1lb of Wakatu and 8oz of falconers flight. Thanks

In the Vancouver area we can get most baemalts for around 37.00/ 55 lb bag. Gambrinus, a local
maltster, produces a nice ESB malt similar to Marris Otter which can also be purchased locally
    for I beli...

Bottled my Fat Freddy Flanders today. The BRY-97 yeast chewed it down to 1.012, so fairly dry
which was what I wanted. The 1.2kg of raspberries has given it a distinct but not overpowering
    taste and a...

I found a Rakau/ Wakatu hopped IPA to be a great combination. I blogged about it here:

I quite regularly use around 10% Munich in my IPA's and also some CaraMunich 10l for specialty
grains. While I haven't tried as high a percentage as you have, I'm sure the results are quite
    good.
