    ABOUT ME

  • Granite Bay, CA
  • Looks like a 20 gal. cycle works great for the YSB to IESB. One smack pack yeast per carboy, and in 21 days second beer on top of the previous yeast cake. I'm liking WY1275 better for the two recipes... That's $500 of great beer for under $60 and 20 hours in 70 days. (125 big bottles of beer valued at $4 per bottle.)

IMO wort should be in tubes, and apparatus should be designed with large tri-clover fittings so
tubes can be cleaned between uses with bottle brush. Propylene glycol or preheat water to HLT

I've done many cold brew beer batches of coffee beer, but never tried steeping in secondary.
Two of them have been scaled up for production, The Kenyan and The Sauce, very well received.

I don't use bags, just toss them in loose (whole cone or pellet). Whole cone will separate top
and bottom (see pic) pellets will settle to bottom. Problem with bags is they are hard to
    remove when ful...

Other factors may be at play. Are your beers completely fermented at bottling time (extending
fermentation in the bottle)? What temperature is the batch at bottling time (62*f liquid holds
