  • I love microbreweries. The beers they offers are amazing. So when i found a homebrew shop in the city,i decided to try my hand in it.

    Tried a Cooper's stout and had some tiny problems,but next time i brew a Stout,it will be amazing.

    Second was a dark lae from cooper's and added dark brown sugar for the mixand the priming. WOW. Head looks like a Belgium ale. Thetaste is amazing with a hint of caramel.

    Third is still in the fermenter on it's 7th day. It's a grain/extract syrup mix called Scrotum Goat Ale. It's a porter and i added Baker's unsweetened chocolate. IT's THICK. It's FG is 1.012~14.
  • Scottish Ale,Oatmeal stout,Dopplebock...the possibilties are endless. Need a second fridge for lager type thought.

    Batch prime both. Like i said the keg carbonated but the bottles. I never use twist caos. Seal
    was good. For the barley,i used swing caps and seal was good. Both batch aged for 3 months.

    Little trouble here, Beersmith gives me -0.11 qt for the mash-out. I'm using a cooler for my
    steep process. Is 1 qt/lb good or is it for boiler type steeping?If i use light body single
    step batch spar...

    Just like Idigg, mines dry hopping and i got 1.093 > 1.012 = 10.8% and the samplke was
    delicious. had to subtitute Summit for Columbus and Amarillo for centennial. Damn i really wish
    i had amarillo :(

    Second update. After a week, the og went from 1.040 to 1.014. The sample tasted great without
    any sour taste or bad odor so everything went well.

    Small update:There's fermentation(YES) The kraussen is a thin bubbly layer on top. The 5l of
    brown stuff is down to a 1/4". All seems well.:D

    I would have dissolved in 150F + water then cooled in an ice bath and dumped it in - but beer
    is less fragile than some of us let on - I'm betting it'll make beer, quality to be seen...If i

    wait... you just dumped unboiled DME into your fermenting beer?Yep. If i was going to screw
