  • I've been a wine & beer geek since college, and even worked for several years, part-time, at a local wine/beer shop (named one of the top 70 beer retailers in the country by All About Beer)---which is really where I honed my beer knowledge. A couple years ago, I was introduced by a friend/coworker to homebrewing; the process fascinated me, but it was that magical first sip of my first carbonated bottle that sold me for life.

Then I found HBT. The rest is history. In 2 years, I managed to brew 76 batches, and even though I have more than I can drink, I really just can't stop.

I'm also an architect, and am part-owner of a wine cooperative, The Wine Guild of Charlottesville (technically an LLC), and love collecting and writing about wine.

  • Geeky as it may sound, I want to experience the entirety of the beer world, and there are very few styles I don't like and couldn't see myself drinking at least 5 gallons of...so I'm striving to brew every style, in time.

What's to be jealous of? A cult of n00bs who obey him without question because even though
they've never tried any of his beers, hey, he posts a lot and he sounds like he knows what he's

The power of awesome is not immune to negativity...Revvy is so bad ass that his op posers are
forced to write graphic homosexual posts on threads displaying his awesomeness. This is
    confirmation that ...

Well ... yes and no. In a marathon, if you move up from 32nd to 12th, but you arent in the
lead, are you in the same place? We are improving each month. It's not fast enough for me, but
    it's as fast a...

Back on topic: add me to the list of dissatisfied Morebeer customers. I won't order from them

Strike 'ripped off'. replace with 'manipulated a customer's ignorance to his own financial

I dunno, I just draw the lines on the nomograph, then go into JP's RA Spreadsheet and adjust
until I get my C:S ratio where I want it. Your results look good, I like the "very malty" C:S
    range for a p...

The hypocrisy of them banning alcohol at this event but then going and drinking wine in church
every sunday and calling it blood, is comical.

There are only two times when I drink beer, when I'm alone and when I'm with someone else.

You're all wanking sissies if you even think about using a grain mill, teeth, or ball-peen hammer. A real brewer uses 17 vestal virgins stomping on the grain in a large wooden vat. And yeast is for losers. True brewers just dip one end of their dog into the wort to get things going.

While I do live in Virgina now, I recently bought acreage in Southern Illinois that we are calling Moss Hollow. I noticed on google that there are some other interesting Moss Hollows. Yours is by far the most interesting. Cheers!
PS I love sweet stout
