    ABOUT ME

  • Used to help my college roommate brew in the 70s, but fairly new to brewing myself. Practiced law for almost 25 years until disabled by a brain stem stroke. My wonderful wife bought me a brew kit from a LHBS in the area thinking it would be a good hobby for me and help replace my job - now she thinks I am obsessed. I brew AG with a pretty ghetto set up - converted Golden Gate keg purchased legally from a local brewery, and a 48 quart cooler/mash tun with a CPVC manifold. It amazes me that someone like me can brew pretty decent beer on a setup like that.

  • Started doing extract with steeped specialty grains. Second batch was the same, but an original recipe. Third brew was an AG BIAB. After that I built a mash tun and never looked back.
  • Lots of homebrew.
  • Pale Ale, Rye IPA, Irish Red.
  • RIS (bulk aging for a few months).
  • I mostly keg but have bottled a number of batches - currently have Apfelwein, Jubeale clone and Black Butte Porter in amounts greater than a case or so, plus some random bottles. Note: none of what you just read about what's in primary, bottles, and kegs is likely up to date.
  • Currently: Two kegs of my own 2 Bad Dogs IPA; have killed lots of kegs of IPAs DIPAs, Blondes, ESBs, etc.
