  • I am a young home-brewer in the foothills of Colorado. I started brewing as a 21st birthday present to my self and I love it! If your in the (719) and you brew hit me up and share some high-altitude idea's!

  • Started June of 2011. Bought an awesome set-up from It came with everything in the starter kits, plus 2 glass carboys (a 5g and a 6.5g) and a brew pot. My first brew was a Copper's Canadian Blonde can kit (it came out fine for first try). Second, a Copper's Wheat Ale (again came out good). 3rd was a Brewers Best Octoberfest kit (left it in a partners fridge to lager, readings were neglected and mold took over before he noticed, batch was dumped). 4th- An Old West Supply Octoberfest Ale kit (bottled, came out great just a bit darker then an octoberfest lager). 5th- In progress- New England Apple Ale All Grain. Now it becomes a list:rn-Blueberry Cider 14% -Altbierrn-Strawberry Blonde -Marzen-Spiced Christmas Ale- Hopped Apple Cider
  • Berlinweiss, Belgian Dubble and Trippel, Magic Hat #9 clone, and maybe an apple jack.
  • A new Marzen recipe I just wrote.
  • 10gallons of Lambic aging. Thinking of racking 5g on to peaches.
  • Marzen, Strawberry Blonde, Altbeir, Christmas Ale, and a few testers.
  • Just finished 5g of Hopped Apple Cider.

    Really! Any idea in what amount/ratio between appolo and cascade? They are quite different and
    I know the final IBU should only be about 20.

    I have read numerous times that people say roselare young does not give the strong sourness
    that the lambic blend gives. But most people say that with age the sourness will come

    I just read magic hats site and it said they use Apollo and cascade with an IBU of about 20. I
