    ABOUT ME

  • Spring, TX
  • Contract Code Monkey
  • I have a coworker that is a pretty avid homebrewer that got me interested in the hobby. I took a trip with him at lunch to Defalco's here in Houston and decided to get a starter wine making kit. Maybe a month or two after that, I started getting equipment for beer brewing. Currently, I brew in my apartment on the stovetop. To date, I have brewed 3 beers, 2 types of wine, and 5 gallons of Ed's Apfelwein.
  • My next brew, and first AG, will be Jamil's Blonde Ale. I also want to brew Cheesefood's Caramel Cream Ale and any experimental brews I can think of.

I think for the time being, it would benefit me the most by brewing my previous beer recipes again and again to get my technique as close to perfect as I can and to improve my recipes over time.

I've been absent from the forums for a while, so here's my "stupid" question. Would it be
worthwhile to solder a stainless coupler onto an aluminum pot? Or is that a bad idea? Thanks.

Congrats, Melana and John! Fun times ahead!! Especially when they get old enough to remind you
it's time for the next hop addition. :D

Thanks, kladue. Naturally, I'll get some scrap metal to test technique with first.

I'm looking around YouTube. Is there a good how-to video or write up on how to silver solder a
    coupling onto a repurposed keg?

Thanks all for the replies!I used Inkscape and the overlapping colors are due to the fill that
I used. For the kings, I didn't want just a plain fill. But, as you can see, the fill I used
    didn't have ...
