- Started brewing on 11.21.10. Since then, I have brewed approximately 9 times with a mix of extract kits and partial mash. For a while, I was brewing every Saturday!rnrnI recently decided it was time (after hours of YouTube videos and reading posts here) to start purchasing the equipment necessary to begin All Grain brewing. In that time, made my first keggle, my own mash tun, bought my grain mill, I even made a bad ass Hop Trellis and have 8 hop plants going. I also got in a bulk grain buy with a buddy through this forum. I love this sh*t!!! rnrnNow I own a bunch of great equipment and there's no turning back...
- All grain Extra Pale Ale with 3oz of Cascade.
- Two 5gal carboys with an Extra Pale Ale recipe. I dry hopped one with a 1/2 oz to see the difference.
- Nada. I do not believe in the need to dirty a second fermentation vessel or the risk of infection.
- I have 5gal of American Pale Ale, 5gal of Ole Fuggle Bastard Ale, and 5gal of a Thunderstruck Pumpkin Ale hybrid that I made. All in my 9cu/ft Keezer on tap.

I went back and looked at my brewsheets and I do indeed have my strike water at 162 not the
actual mash temps. They are usually about 156 for 60-75min.I am still baffled as to why my OG's
are often 8-...Posted in thread: Mash water volume ratios. on 09-20-2011 at 07:18 PM
Wow, OK so I have possibly found the reason my OG's have been so horrible lately. I am not sure
where I got the info from but... I mash at 162 for 60min and mash out at 170. I primarily make
EPA's and...Posted in thread: Thunderstruck Pumpkin Ale (AG and Extract versions) on 09-19-2011 at 10:33 AM
FYI: I brewed this in a 5gal version this past weekend. The only think I had to change was
using torrified wheat rather than flaked wheat because my Northern shipment did not reach me in
time. For 5ga...Posted in thread: South Jersey/Philly Group Buy... ROUND 20! on 09-18-2011 at 02:28 PM
