  • Anything but rap and hip hop.
  • Not a movie buff at all.
  • The Simpsons, Family Guy, and the Big Bang Theory.
  • I got into home brewing about 4 years ago, while floating in my neighbors pool, and drinking a beer. I said "man, I wish I could make beer like this" and my neighbor said, "well I used to home brew, and have been looking for a reason to get back into it", and that was all she wrote. We brew together in my kitchen, and make 4 batches each session (2 of each) and swap each other a keg.

    Best.... hobby.... ever.
  • Someday I think I would like to try AG brewing, but for right now, extract is getting it done for me.
  • 10 gallons Cream Ale, and 10 gallons Summer Shandy
  • 10 gallons Watermelon Ale, and 10 gallons Hazelnut Brown Ale
  • Stopped bottling after my 3rd batch, and moved along to draft beer. :)
  • Smokehouse Porter, Honey Weiss, and a batch of hard apple cider.

I wonder if you can add these flavorings to inexpensive vodka and get a decent flavored vodka
for use in mixers.....What's the worst that could happen? :p

I racked my batch on Sunday and added the flavoring. It is certainly candy oil, very artificial
smelling. I am sure it will mellow in the beer. One thing I did notice on the lorann website is
    that som...

A happy and belated welcome.I shop mostly at the Frugal Homebrewer in Waukesha, but do go to

Or you could spend a couple of bucks on some mesh bags designed for holding your hops and
specialty grains. Then you should have no "gunk" in your wort.

Any reason why you put the flavoring in during fermentation instead of at bottling like when
using conventional flavorings?Trial and error. It gives just the right amount of flavor I was
    looking for b...
